Health Informatics Equity Lab
Lead Investigator Dr. Charlene Ronquillo
The aim of this lab is to generate evidence on approaches to better integrate health equity considerations in the conceptualization, development, and implementation of health technologies within health systems, with a current focus on artificial intelligence in nursing. This lab examines the intersections of health informatics, health equity, and nursing as underpinned by critical theory and implementation science. A key aim of this lab is to ensure meaningful inclusion of non-dominant groups in the conceptualization, design, development, and implementation of health technologies in health systems. Work in this lab centers on principles of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, is inherently multidisciplinary and boundary-pushing, and works with a view towards practical implementation and responsiveness to the needs of local, national, and international knowledge users
