Maggie Weninger

School of Nursing


Maggie has been a Registered Nurse and has held a Bachelor of Science in Nursing since 2009. She graduated in 2018 with her Master of Science in Nursing. She has experience in medical, surgical, and paediatrics; and she currently works medical and surgical cardiology, as well as acute heart failure team at Kelowna General Hospital.

Maggie began contract work for the UBC School of Nursing back in 2013 as a clinical assistant. In August 2020, she took on a permanent position. Maggie has worked across all four years of the curriculum in practice areas including: skills lab; medical, surgical, gerontology, and mental health practice placements; and rural & remote practice (Ghana, West Africa). She has also lectured in a theory course: NRSG 126.

Maggie can be seen around campus with her Golden Retriever, Penny, as the two volunteer with the dog therapy program on campus, BARK.
